Vancouver Working Group

The 22-member Vancouver Working Group (VWG) met 12 times between January 2009 and July 2009 to advise on light rail design through downtown Vancouver to Clark College. The VWG brought together community members (residents, business owners, transit-dependent populations and commuters) interested in light rail planning in Vancouver.

The group helped shape the project’s transit element by recommending a light rail route and locations for stations and park and rides. The recommended route has trains traveling north on Broadway Street and south on Washington Street. Trains would then travel east and west on McLoughlin Boulevard. The terminus station would be located at a park and ride near Clark College and the Marshall/Luepke Center. Recommendations of the VWG will be considered this fall by the Vancouver City Council followed by the C-TRAN Board.
